Corrie’s Shelley King honoured with Outstanding Contribution to Media Award

Actress Shelley King who plays Yasmeen Nazir in the nation’s most loved soap has been honoured with the Outstanding Contribution to Media award at this year’s Asian Media Awards. Shelley started out in a soap in 1977 and a successful acting career has seen her in some of the UK’s favourite television dramas and stage productions.

She said on the night,

It may be my award but I owe this award to many other people. I think we should help one another.


The Asian Media Awards recognise excellence in the media with categories in journalism, online, radio, television and marketing.
