At ITV, we’re proud of the diverse workforce we have and actively support creating an environment where everyone feels included.
In 2018, ITV took part in the comprehensive Stonewall Workplace Equality Index. The Index is the definitive benchmarking tool for employers to measure their progress on lesbian, gay, bi and trans inclusion in the workplace. Those who take part know that people perform better when they can be themselves. ITV demonstrated their work in 10 areas of employment policy and practice and our staff from across the organisation completed an anonymous survey about their experiences of diversity and inclusion at work.
We are thrilled to announce that the results of this year’s index have put ITV at number 129 out of a total of 450 organisations that entered. Just outside the Top 100, but with the index being so highly competitive, it’s a massive achievement from the 179 ranking that we achieved 3 years ago.
Kelly Williams, MD Commercial and Board Sponsor of ITV Pride
This is fantastic news, huge congrats to our ITV Pride co-chairs Georgina Marcantino and Matt Scarff, our HR team and the ITV Pride network for all your work, passion and enthusiasm in making such an improvement to this years index. I’m feeling very proud.”
Georgina Marcantonio, Commercial marketing manager and Co-chair of ITV Pride
Thank you to everyone who filled in the survey and to those of you who helped with the supporting evidence. Considering how fierce the competition is and that media is underrepresented in the top 100 – 29 places away from 100 is a brilliant achievement and demonstrates all the progress we have made since 2016, particularly with our Trans agenda.”
We are looking forward to doing more work to promote LGBT+ inclusion in the future, alongside Stonewall, to continue to build on our achievement. Just one example of this is the recent launch of ITV Pride’s internal podcast – ITV Pridecast – that provides an update on the latest LGBT+ news from across the company.
