ITV’s Matt Scarff once again makes OUTstanding Leading LGBT+ Executives List

For the second year running, Director of ITV Creative and Experiences, Matt Scarff, has been recognised for commitment to promoting LGBT+ issues at work and in society.

Since 2013, the OUTstanding lists, presented by the FT, have celebrated those LGBT+ executives and allies who are not only successful in their careers, but are also creating supportive workplaces for other LGBT+ people, going above and beyond to champion the LGBT+ agenda. We’re very proud that our Director of ITV Creative and Experiences, Matt Scarff, has been included in the LGBT+ Executives list for the second year running.

Matt has championed the LGBT+ agenda at ITV for a considerable amount of time, and most recently focused his efforts on amplifying the visibility of ITV Pride both on and off screen, updating company policies and processes to be more inclusive of the LGBT+ community, and externally promoting the hard work that he and the teams at ITV are doing.

Matt’s standout moments included ITV running ‘Pride’ channel idents into key programmes and introducing Pride branding on ITV’s daytime shows This Morning and Lorraine, with Lorraine Kelly leading ITV’s coverage of Pride In London in July 2018 at the event and on her morning programme. Matt invited ITV’s new Chief Exec, Carolyn McCall to the Summer of ITV Pride meeting in June to participate and answer questions relevant to the LGBT+ community at ITV and asked Managing Director of ITV Commercial, Kelly Williams, to be Board Sponsor of the ITV Pride LGBT+ Network.

Matt worked with key areas of ITV to introduce ITV’s ‘Transitioning at Work’ policy and helped drive gender-neutral identification when registering on the ITV Hub catch up service. Onboarding packs for new colleagues also include references to ITV Pride, explaining what the network group is and how they support colleagues within the organisation.

Externally, Matt is a key member of the InterMediaUK network group, having previously chaired the Steering Committee. He has spoken at the Institute of Directors Diversity and Inclusion Conference and featured in an authored report from ITV News around LGBT+ and why Pride Matters in 2018.

We’re really proud that Matt has been recognised for his hard work, and we’ll continue to foster his energy and commitment to this agenda and support him in his efforts to do even more.
