Mental Health Awareness Week

Using our reach to raise awareness of mental health.

To mark Mental Health Awareness Week, we used our mass audience reach and influence to encourage audiences to take a moment and improve their mental wellbeing. During the week, we aired 30-second ads, shown every night with a video from the I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here jungle which paused, inviting viewers to take a few quiet moments to reflect and take notice.

Paying more attention to the present moment – by noticing your breathing, your thoughts or the world around you – can improve your mental wellbeing. It is one of the 5 tactics scientifically proven to improve wellbeing. We hope the ads played a part in helping audiences proactively think about and look after their mental health.

The ads joined a range of programmes across our schedule which supported Mental Health Awareness Week. This included special packages in national and regional news, and coverage across our daytime shows, from segments such as Shine a Light on Lorraine, and the continuation of Simon Thomas’s Pursuit of Happiness on This Morning, to awareness-raising interviews.
