One Million Minutes wins The Drum Awards

Recognition for campaign tackling loneliness.

The Drum Online Media Awards identifies the boldest and most original news and views from around the world. From politics to sport, finance to film, the aim is to find the best application of talent and technology online.

Our GMB team has won the Online Editorial Campaign of the year category for our 1 Million Minutes campaign which asked the public to pledge just 30 minutes of their time to help an older person. There was a great response from the public with over 42 million minutes pledged to help an elderly neighbour, friend or relative.

The campaign was run in partnership with the charities The Silver Line, Royal Voluntary Service, Age UK and Campaign to End Loneliness with over 17,000 people visiting the dedicated webpage and almost 4,000 signing up to specific volunteering opportunities with those charities.
