The People’s Projects is a collaboration between ITV and The Big Lottery Fund that gives the public a chance to decide how National Lottery funding can make a difference in their local area. 95 local community projects and organisations were featured throughout ITV, UTV and STV news regions across the UK with a chance of winning up to £50,000.
The three projects from each region that gained the highest number of votes received up to £50,000 each. The remaining two organisations from each region were considered for a grant of up to £5,000 each. The process was independently adjudicated by Electoral Reform Services.
A total of £2,850,000 has been awarded to this year’s winners and since 2005 (when the initiative was known as The People’s Millions) National Lottery grants worth £39 million have been awarded to 865 good causes across the UK.
